Martha Mead has been with Northside Capital Management since 2020.
Background
Prior to joining Northside, Martha worked in development at the Sun Valley Museum of Art (formerly Sun Valley Center for the Arts). Martha was involved in all aspects of fundraising for the organization. She was responsible for member communication and maintaining donor databases.
Martha earned a B.A. with honors in Geology and European Studies from Amherst College in 2016 where she was a Mellon Fellow.

Martha is involved in investment research. She is based in our Ketchum, Idaho office.
Jim DeWolfe has been with Northside Capital Management since 2005.
Background
Prior to joining Northside, Mr. DeWolfe was a Partner and Head of Capital Markets for Thomas Weisel Partners (TWP) in San Francisco. In this role, he was responsible for origination, structuring, timing, execution, and distribution of corporate finance transactions primarily in healthcare, consumer and technology sectors. In addition to his management responsibilities as TWP, Mr. DeWolfe was Co-Director of Private Equity Placements, and developed a commercial real estate strategy for TWP’s Private Equity Group.
Prior to joining Thomas Weisel Partners, Mr. DeWolfe held a series of senior positions at Morgan Stanley, beginning in New York as Vice President of Corporate Bond Trading Desk. Mr. DeWolfe then served as Principal and Head of Morgan Stanley’s Whole Loan and Adjustable Rate Mortgage Trading Desk. Mr. DeWolfe was the senior risk manager and trader for all non-agency fixed mortgage back product, all adjustable rate mortgage product, home equity, asset backed product (including credit card debt and auto loan debt), and structured mortgage product. In 1993, Mr. DeWolfe moved to Morgan Stanley’s, San Francisco office, where he served as the primary coverage officer for many large and sophisticated financial institutions in the Western U.S.
Mr. DeWolfe earned an B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of Vermont.

Mr. DeWolfe directs all facets of firm operations. He is involved in investment research, including manager diligence, evaluating macro and market conditions, and identifying investment opportunities, portfolio and risk management and client service.
Mo Cheston has been with Northside Capital Management since 2009.
Background
Prior to joining Northside Capital, Mr. Cheston was a Managing Director at Thomas Weisel Partners, the San Francisco based, growth-focused investment bank. Mr. Cheston was an original employee at TWP where he started the Equity Capital Markets Department and ran Equity Syndicate. While at Thomas Weisel Partners, Mr. Cheston was a member of the Commitment Committee and was responsible for originating and executing initial public and follow-on equity offerings for emerging growth companies across sectors such as technology, healthcare, consumer and alternative energy. He assessed the capital markets environment and helped companies position themselves for equity offerings. Mr. Cheston also worked closely with mutual funds, small cap managers and hedge funds in the pricing and allocation of shares in both initial public and follow-on offerings.
Prior to joining Thomas Weisel Partners, Mr. Cheston worked for the mutual fund complex Pilgrim Baxter & Associates, and for Bluewater Capital Management, a private investment partnership, investing in both late-stage private and micro-cap public companies. Early in his career, Mr. Cheston was an Associate in the Consumer Investment Banking Group at Montgomery Securities, a growth-focused investment bank acquired by Bank of America in 1997.
Mr. Cheston earned an A.B. in History and a Certificate in American Studies from Princeton University.

Alana Mag has been with Northside Capital Management since 2012.
Background
Prior to joining Northside, Ms. Mag was an associate on the Alternative Investments & Manager Selection team within the Investment Management division of Goldman, Sachs & Co based in New York. Ms. Mag was responsible for evaluating investment opportunities for traditional long-only and alternative (private equity and hedge fund) asset classes. Early in her career, Ms. Mag worked as an analyst on the Partnership Fund Accounting team within the Federation of Goldman, Sachs & Co. In this role, she monitored the liquidity needs for private equity fund-of-funds and created models for calculating investor capital calls and distributions, optimizing use of third-party leverage and trading in foreign currencies.
Ms. Mag earned a B.S. in Finance and Accounting at New York University, Leonard N. Stern School of Business in 2007. She is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation (CFA) and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).

Ms. Mag is involved in evaluating macro and market conditions and identifying investment opportunities. Her primary responsibilities include investment research, operational due diligence, risk management, asset allocation and client service. She is based in our San Francisco Bay Area office.
Tim Itin has been with Northside Capital Management since 2013.
Background
Prior to joining Northside, Mr. Itin was a Managing Director and a Founding Partner at Thomas Weisel Partners, a growth-focused, full-service investment bank based in San Francisco. His responsibilities included equity research coverage of many of the largest domestic money managers, including hedge funds, mutual funds, banks, endowments, and foundations.
Mr. Itin started his career as an equity trader at Montgomery Securities, a growth-focused, full-service investment bank based in San Francisco. He eventually moved into Montgomery’s merger arbitrage affiliate, Laurel Arbitrage Partners, where he was the fund’s Head Trader. Additionally, Mr. Itin held various positions within the institutional equity business, including at Volpe Brown Whelan where he was Head of Equity Coverage Trading and served as a member of the Sales & Trading Management Committee, and at Jensen Securities with similar responsibilities.
Mr. Itin earned his B.A. in Economics from Dartmouth College in 1981. He is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation (CFA).
Focus & Responsibilities
Mr. Itin is involved in investment research, risk management, asset allocation, and client service. Within investment research, he has a specific focus and interest in impact investments, including those investments seeking the double-bottom line goal of generating a competitive financial return while also having environmentally friendly, sustainability, and socially responsible attributes. Tim is based in our Colorado office.
Diane Banta has been with Northside Capital Management since 2017.
Background
Prior to joining Northside, Ms. Banta was most recently a Vice President of Research at Ironwood Capital Management, a fund of hedge funds based in San Francisco. Ms. Banta was responsible for manager sourcing, analysis, and investment due diligence. Earlier in her career, Ms. Banta worked as an analyst in the Debt Capital Markets group within the Investment Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. In this role, she assisted with the origination and execution of corporate bond offerings and loan underwritings for Investment Grade companies. She also worked as an analyst in the Executive Office of Goldman, Sachs & Co.
Ms. Banta earned a B.S. in Commerce with concentrations in Finance and Management from the University of Virginia, McIntire School of Commerce in 2007. She is a holder of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.

John Phillips has been with Northside Capital Management since 2001.
Background
Prior to joining Northside, John worked as a personal financial planner providing financial services to individuals and businesses through Northwestern Mutual. John spent the earlier part of his career working as an accountant and information technology manager for several privately held manufacturing companies.
Mr. Philips holds an MBA from Seattle University and a B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration from Kansas University. Mr. Philips is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

Mr. Philips focuses on many operational and compliance related activities within our firm, assuring our portfolio accounting systems and processes are up to date and operating in an efficient and legally compliant manner. He is based in our Hood River, Oregon office.
Trish has been with Northside Capital Management since 2001.
Background
Before joining Northside, Trish was a generalist salesperson on the Institutional Fixed Income Sales desk of Sutro & Company, a San Francisco investment bank. Her early career in the securities industry included work for Citicorp Securities on its San Francisco Money Market Sales desk, Lehman Brothers, on its San Francisco Institutional Fixed Income Sales Desk, with an emphasis on mortgage backed securities and corporate bonds, and Salomon Smith Barney as a Sales Assistant on the Institutional Fixed Income Sales desk, ultimately being promoted to a bond salesperson.
Trish began her career in retail banking at Bank of America as a Teller in one of the banks higher volume retail branches. Within two years she was chosen to work on the bank’s pilot program which moved all client service calls out of the branches to a centralized service center. This pilot program became the model for the bank’s client service. Before leaving the bank, Trish had management responsibility for 20+ Customer Service Representatives, which involved their training and development in product knowledge and operation procedures.
Trish graduated with honors from Dominican University of California with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and a minor in Psychology.
Focus & Responsibilities
Trish oversees all issues concerning client related matters, ensuring that all are handled smoothly and efficiently. This includes direct interaction with clients related to their investment portfolio, liquidity needs, investment rebalancing and tracking, year-end tax planning, investment reporting analytics, tracking of alternative investments, and interaction with the many accountants, custodians, asset managers and administrators. She is based in our Hood River, Oregon office.
Steve Carroll has been with Northside Capital Management since 2002.
Background
Prior to joining Northside Capital, Mr. Carroll worked as a Business Analyst for QWest Communications, interpreting and providing forecasting, performance and financial reports, along with setting sales objectives for consultants nationwide. During that time, he developed and implemented a web-based statistics center, streamlining the analysis and reporting process. Before working with Qwest, Mr. Carroll served as a technical writer and consultant for AIM Software Corporation, installing and providing support for major custom software installations.
Mr. Carroll holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Washington in Seattle.
Focus & Responsibilities
Mr. Carroll focuses on all technological aspects of Northside’s systems and security. He stays on top of the latest technology and constantly researches new products to keep Northside’s operations at the forefront of, security, compliance, efficiency and scalability. Steve has also been managing the company finances since he started with the firm. He is based in our Hood River, Oregon office.
Stephani Hendricks has been with Northside Capital Management since 2008.
Background
Prior to joining Northside, Ms. Hendricks managed client services and marketing for Chicago Title Development Services in Portland, Oregon. Ms. Hendricks specialized in market forecasting and business development for builders and developers in the Portland area. Prior to Chicago Title, Ms. Hendricks worked for Abbott Laboratories as a Specialty Pharmaceutical Representative in Abbott’s cardiovascular division and as a Sales and Marketing Manager for a privately-owned Construction Company in Seattle, Washington.
Ms. Hendricks earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Psychology at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Ms. Hendricks works in client service, investment administration and assists Jim DeWolfe with research support and portfolio analytics. She is based in our Hood River, Oregon office.
Ryan Hepburn has been with Northside Capital Management since 2016.
Background
Prior to joining Northside, Mr. Hepburn was an Assurance Senior at Delap, LLP an Oregon based CPA firm. Mr. Hepburn was responsible for providing assurance services including financial statement audits, reviews and compilations for a variety of industries and retirement plans (i.e. 401(k), 403(b) and Pension Plans).
Mr. Hepburn grew up enjoying the great outdoors of western Montana and central Washington. He earned a B.S. in Accounting at the University of Montana in 2007, and a Masters of Accountancy at the University of Denver, Daniels School of Business in 2008.
Focus & Responsibilities
Mr. Hepburn primarily focuses on operational due diligence with an emphasis on financial statement analysis and reporting. His primary responsibilities include risk analysis of current and prospective investments, researching developing opportunities, and assisting with year-end tax planning. He is based in our Hood River, Oregon office.
Kelly Rudisill has been with Northside Capital Management since 2019
Background
Prior to joining Northside, Kelly worked for the Office of the General Counsel at Insitu (A Boeing Company) in the Columbia River Gorge. She has worked in law for several years, starting out as an assistant at the Law Firm of Wagner, Falconer & Judd In Minneapolis, MN where she managed attorney-client correspondence.
Kelly graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington as a Phi Kappa Phi Honors Student with a Bachelor of Arts in Painting and a minor in English.

Kelly works in client service and administration. She is based in our Hood River, Oregon Office.
